Syeko Design House Photoshoot....Awesomeness!!
Sooooo....As you can tell, I'm addicted to using Flipagram...LOL! I had the dynamic opportunity to be a part of the Syeko Design House team for a photoshoot for the relaunch of their website! When I say I was inspired...I WAS INSPIRED! The owner and designer, Brandi Lewis, is like Heaven in a Bottle (one of my many Takia-isms). Her eye for details and her ability to mix edgy one of a kind hand-made pieces with vintage and/or simple everyday wears is absolutely....AWESOME-SAUC
Reinvigorated....
I felt myself slipping in to a creative funk. Make-up is not only my business but a way for me to be creative and express what is inside of me. So...to challenge myself and to get my creative juices flowing I woke up Monday morning and decided to take pictures of my make-up process and to turn it in to a flipagram video. I had no idea that I was going to have so much fun and that it would re-spark the make-up fire that lives in me. So...I decided to challenge myself to creat

"My eyeshadow won't stay on!"
You ever spend 1-2 hours in the mirror creating this dynamic eyeshadow look that you are so proud of only to have it disappear before lunch time??? UGH.....That used to happen to me and most of my clients complain that this happens to them. One of the biggest reasons for this is because you are not "priming" your eyelid. Most of us use traditional eyeshadow (not pigments or cream based products) that is, in essence, colored powder...LOL. Which means that over the course of t

Conquering the "Natural" Look
"What in the world is a "natural" look if you're wearing make-up?" It's not technically "natural" if you are wearing make-up...right? The debate over natural hair, make-up, and a natural body goes on and on; however, in the make-up world there is such a thing as a "natural" make-up look and I had THE HARDEST time trying to figure out how to achieve it! I'm an avant-garde girl! I love very dramatic, over-the-top make-up with feather lashes and glitter lips...LOL! But, that's n

Don't Forget Your BABY Lashes...
It's Tidbit Tuesday! I love sharing information that I have learned from playing in paint daily. One thing I learned early was don't forget about your BABY lashes...your bottom lashes! Now, I'm not going to lie...when I do my face daily I don't always remember my baby lashes. However, when I am creating looks for my clients I am always aware that mascara on the bottom lashes add a little bit more drama and can successfully complete a look. I know...I know...some of you are l

Everyday FAB Make-Up Workshop
My second Everyday FAB Make-Up Workshop will be taking place this Saturday, June 14th and I am absolutely excited....and nervous all at the same! I, like many of you, am a procrastinator. It's a very bad habit but I always think I have way more time that I actually do (plus I have tricked myself in to believing that I work best under pressure...NOT!). So I am working day and night to make sure that I have everything ready to host some amazing FABGLAMAZONS as we "play in pain

ANEW Hair Lounge Photoshoot
Earlier this year I had the awesome opportunity to work with Ms. Wen McCoy, Owner of ANEW Hair Lounge on her launch photoshoot! The experience was absolutely amazing. I had the opportunity to work with six dynamic models, Wen on hair, Andre Dunston with Epic Media Photography, and Me...on make-up of course! I'm not going to lie, I am always nervous when working with any of my clients as I want them to have the best experience possible and I want to make sure that I create th

Tidbit Tuesday - LA Colors
This week for Tidbit Tuesday on the Accessmatized Facebook page I posted one of my favorite go to products and inexpensive brand, LA Colors! As you get to know me, you will find out that I find make-up everywhere I go...LOL! As a mom of three, I frequent the Dollar General at least twice a week to purchase paper plates, cleaning wipes, and other miscellaneous household products that my children seem to use up faster than I can bring it home (y'all know what I'm talking about)
Jearlean Taylor on Fox 45 News
Did you happen to catch the GLAMBULOUS Ms. Jearlean Taylor rocking an "Accessmatized" face on Fox 45 News last week. Jearlean has an awesome survivor story having had to fight with a rare form of cancer at the tender age of 3. She has gone on to be a successful model (gracing the pages of the June issue of Essence Magazine rocking an "Accessmatized" face as well), author, and owner of J and Company Christian Modeling Company! She is so Awesome.... To achieve this flawless l
